Will Alabama be upset this year?

Will Alabama be upset this year?  With the Crimson Tide continuing to dominate each team as they get to them, all of college football is asking that question. Personally, I think the mental status of many teams is that they are now playing for the number two spot. I think that Bama fans now understand what Auburn fans felt like when Cam Newton was taking snaps for them…anything was possible.

Unless LSU and Joe Burrow can squeeze out a win in a couple of weeks in Death Valley, the Tide could very well win out the rest of the season. Watching Joe Burrow play this week shows that LSU still has some serious work ahead. I do believe Coach O will put them through their paces have them ready to play a much better game when the Tide rolls in. It should be a tough game for both sides.

The Iron Bowl should be lots of fun…if you’re a Bama fan. Auburn looks disorganized and completely out of sync with each other. So much talk around Jarrett Stidham playing at the next level, but I just don’t see it. At least not yet. Even with Auburn winning this week I still get the feeling that the Auburn nation is not happy with their coaching staff. I look for a change to come after this season.

So…will Alabama be upset this year? If I were betting I’d say no. With the number one quarterback in the country and Jalen Hurts backing him up I think were gonna be ok. Not to mention that our defense seems to be stepping up more and more each week. No other team at this point in the season has both the offense and defense that will stop the Tide from rolling in.

We Want Bama!

Every year as college football season rolls around, it never ceases to amaze me at the change people go through. While this is a football article, it isn’t an article about the players. It concerns the fans of this great sport. The ones that show the true spirit of the game and those that well…show something else.

Football season brings many things; rivalries, changes in the weather, cookouts, tail gaiting, and much more. It brings memes, trash talk, drunken ignorance, disrespect, and a few things worse than that. Jealously of one team or another that happen to be doing well, usually gets the trash talk started.

Now as a die hard Alabama fan I fully understand the passion of the college football fan. We bleed crimson all year, not just while the games are being played. But, unless you live in Alabama or have lived here, you probably don’t have a true grasp of our passion for both the sport and our beloved University.

So where am I going with all this you may wonder? Well before this last game some very disrespectful things were posted about our coach, his wife, and his daughter. By the opposing teams fanbase. Now I’m not about to lump all the team’s fans in with those that did the vulgar acts because that simply wouldn’t be fair. It only took a few ignorant people to set the tone for what was probably a seek and destroy mission for Alabama’s defense.

There’s only one other team in the nation that can understand the spirit and fire of Alabama football…the Auburn Tigers. Yes, I said it, something good about Auburn. The reason being is that they do live in this great state and they personally know the Hell we give each other 365 days a year. So, after watching all the games and listening to all the BS I’ve got one thing to say. If you don’t live here and you want your team to “Beat Bama,” I would seriously advise you not to post stupid signs, memes, or vulgar pictures online right before playing the “Crimson Tide.” The outcome usually isn’t pretty. RTR!

Well, football season is here in Alabama

Well, football season is here in Alabama as well as across our great nation. The big quarterback mystery for the Crimson Tide has been solved, and the head running for the rest of the players and fans has begun. Tua is our main man and Jalen is our backup. No matter what you think of Coach Saban he has two quarterbacks either of which could play for any other team in the nation.

Once again, we have witnessed a team run their heads pre-season about Bama and not been able to back up their claims of dominance. So much so, that it was on the news after the game. You would think that after this has happened so many times teams would realize that our coaches use all these sound bites in practice to fire our guys up…duh.

Then on the other hand we get to listen to the Auburn side of the Crimson Tide saga…like we care. Who cares what team the other team plays first each year. We will both have our chances to play each other and ranked teams along the way. While the Iron Bowl is like a state holiday here in Alabama, as Alabama continues to build on it’s Dynasty, we are realizing there is more football to be played after the Iron Bowl is over. The ultimate goal for the Tide now is to play in the last game of the season, the big one, the one for all the marbles.

So, a little advice to all other football teams not Alabama. Listen to your coaches and practice hard all year. Don’t say stupid things to the media that we can show our players over and over to use against you before the game. Oh…and keep the season in perspective and remember you are probably playing for number two. Roll Tide.

Goodbye 2016

Well guys, as I sit here drinking my first coffee of the morning, I can’t help but think back on this past year. 2016 has now come and gone. For many it will be a year they would like to forget. Many of our favorite people passed away this year, many more passed that weren’t known to the general population…may they all rest in peace and suffer no more. 🙋

For others like myself dreams turned into reality, goals were met, and businesses were born from random ideas. Small business is often a hard way to earn a living, but, it is also the most satisfying way to earn a living. There is nothing better to me than taking an idea from scratch to reality, watering it, and watching it grow. If you have an idea for a business and you are passionate about it, chances are there are others out there just as passionate about it as you are. Take the next step, make it happen. Don’t live with the regret of not trying for that is a worse feeling than failure. 🙋

I think part of my success this year has been the fact that at some point in time I started believing in myself. Confidence is the most valuable tool in your tool box. If you have put off building on an idea you might have had for years, what are you waiting on? The problem with waiting for everything to be just perfect is that your idea is probably going to die with you. Why not build a legacy to leave behind instead of a notebook of ideas that someone will one day throw in the trash can.   ðŸ™‹

Now when I talk about success, does this mean I have, “made it to the big time?” Not even close. But, like Frosty the snowman I am putting one foot in front of the other and guess what, I am moving forward. My favorite piece of advice I have ever heard was when Doc Holiday told Wyatt to live, live right up there, live for me. What a great attitude. Join with me now and let’s make 2017 the absolute best year so far. 🙋

A Nation Divided

A divided country is an unstable country, which also makes us a vulnerable country. This makes us prone to attacks from both the inside and the outside. We must, in this new era we are embarking on ask ourselves…is this the kind of nation we want to live in? Unless we make a move to stand together, we will fall apart together. Like it or not our election is over, and like spilled milk it will not help by crying over it. It’s time to clean up the mess and move on as one nation.

No matter how you voted, what you believe in, or what side you claim to be on, protesters do have the right to peacefully protest things they don’t believe in. Peacefully is the key word here. Turning over cars, burning things, and violence does not fall into that category. When you as protesters go from peaceful to violent or aggressive you lose your credibility and you at that instantly become a criminal.

If you as a protester want to be heard and not arrested, take the time to write a letter to your local newspaper, your congressman, or even your state representative. Your voice will be heard by many more that way rather than blocking freeways and causing destruction. For those of you stomping the American flag and kneeling during the Star Spangle Banner…really? For one, most of the nation doesn’t even know why you are kneeling in the first place, and the rest don’t care. You are now seen as disrespectable to those that fought to give you the right to live free. If you didn’t understand that part read it again.

For those of you waving flags of other countries, go back to those countries. We already have a flag here and we don’t need another one. If the places you came from are so great, then why are you here? Maybe you miss the Sinaloa raiding your little girl’s birthday party, and killing everyone inside. Or, maybe some of you miss the sounds of bombs blowing up and the children screaming in the night. If that is the case, we will certainly help you get back to the land you love. You are one plane ticket away from happiness and bliss.

The path to a better nation runs through all of us. All groups, clubs, races, religions, etc., must lead the way and be an example. Start now.
