“You can’t
please everyone.” This is a statement that has been handed down to us for
generations. Our parents, grandparents, and great grandparents knew it to be
true. Unfortunately pleasing everyone at the same time will never be possible.
We are humans, we don’t all think the same or even want the same things.
Here in the
USA in less than three hundred years we built what was considered the greatest
nation on earth. Just look at us now. Arguing amongst ourselves as we go
through some pretty, tough, growing pains. We, at this point in time are our
worst enemy. Not China, not Russia, or North Korea. Ourselves. Being such a
great nation is why people from all over the world want to come here. They strive
to have what we have. It is sad that we as a nation have taken what we have for
granted.
We are a
land of diverse people. “You can’t please everyone.” We as a nation have to
find some common ground in order to survive. In order to remain strong enough to
keep our enemies at bay. The talk of states seceding from the union is both
stupid and dangerous. So many right now need to take a step back, calm down,
and start to form rational thoughts. A state without a country these days won’t
stand on its own very long. “Together we stand united we fall,” is not just a
cute saying…it holds water.
There is no
such thing as a perfect political party, both our main parties are seriously
flawed. Both have good ideas as well as bad. Both have some decent people and
both have some crooks. What took us as a nation hundreds of years to build, we may
destroy in only one generation. I realize that change is hated by most everyone,
but it is coming whether we like it or not. It is up to us to steer these
changes in a direction that won’t destroy us or leave us vulnerable to our
enemies. Common sense seems to be somewhat lacking these days. Words and
actions are our most valuable tools we have, use them wisely.
