“You can’t please everyone.”

“You can’t please everyone.” This is a statement that has been handed down to us for generations. Our parents, grandparents, and great grandparents knew it to be true. Unfortunately pleasing everyone at the same time will never be possible. We are humans, we don’t all think the same or even want the same things.

Here in the USA in less than three hundred years we built what was considered the greatest nation on earth. Just look at us now. Arguing amongst ourselves as we go through some pretty, tough, growing pains. We, at this point in time are our worst enemy. Not China, not Russia, or North Korea. Ourselves. Being such a great nation is why people from all over the world want to come here. They strive to have what we have. It is sad that we as a nation have taken what we have for granted.

We are a land of diverse people. “You can’t please everyone.” We as a nation have to find some common ground in order to survive. In order to remain strong enough to keep our enemies at bay. The talk of states seceding from the union is both stupid and dangerous. So many right now need to take a step back, calm down, and start to form rational thoughts. A state without a country these days won’t stand on its own very long. “Together we stand united we fall,” is not just a cute saying…it holds water.

There is no such thing as a perfect political party, both our main parties are seriously flawed. Both have good ideas as well as bad. Both have some decent people and both have some crooks. What took us as a nation hundreds of years to build, we may destroy in only one generation. I realize that change is hated by most everyone, but it is coming whether we like it or not. It is up to us to steer these changes in a direction that won’t destroy us or leave us vulnerable to our enemies. Common sense seems to be somewhat lacking these days. Words and actions are our most valuable tools we have, use them wisely.

It would be an honor to have you follow my blog. Your comments are welcome, whether you agree with me or not. Have a great Day.

Will America Turn Away From China?

From day one of the Corona virus pandemic, we have heard the cry “Turn away from China.” So, will America now turn away from Chinese products and buy American made stuff? Do we really have the will power to do such a thing? Do we as a nation have the stomach to walk into a place of business and buy an item, not based on price, but on the made in the USA sticker on the back?

Many consumers will jump quickly on this bandwagon. Others might talk the talk and will still go on buying cheaper goods made in China. As of this writing I too have come to rely on cheaper Chinese made goods over the years. My phone, laptop, TV, and even the batteries for my TV remote are all Chinese made products. I didn’t buy them because they were made in China, simply because they were cheaper at the time and served a purpose I needed. Will I rethink my buying habits in the future…you bet I will.

So many products we use on a daily basis, come from China. Clothing, shoes, air conditioners, solar products, smart phones, computers, and the list could go on for days. Food products processed in China and shipped to the USA is a whole separate blog subject. Many have forgotten the tragedy of 9-11. Will we soon forget where this virus came from and the fact that we are so dependent on goods from a place that has lower standards and safety measures as our own? Probably.

It will not be an easy task getting an entire nation to change buying habits. Many think that they are only one person and that they won’t make a difference anyway. Let me assure you a small business owner like myself believes that you can make a difference. Every purchase you make local and from a small business is 100% appreciated. If you want to be a part of bringing prices down here in America, buy American. It is as simple as that.

Whether you agree with me or not, I invite you to follow my blog so that you never miss one. If you disagree let me know in the comments, for that is your right as an American. If you agree please take the time and hit the like and share button. I hope you are all well and safe. God Bless.

Freedom Is Not Free!

Freedom Isn’t Free

As a proud life long member of the biker nation, I have seen the saying “Freedom isn’t free” many times. On stickers, patches, jackets and vests. While some may wear their patch or sticker because it looks cool, most wear theirs in memory of someone that served in the military. Many bikers themselves served in the armed forces and proudly display the patch of the division they served in. Helmets off to these guys, they are patriotic 365 days a year. Not just the one day we set aside to celebrate our countries independence.

Shocking as it may seem, many young people today don’t really think about this day for what it is. To them it is simply “the fourth of July.” A day to party and blow up fireworks. To them the freedoms we have in this great country are taken for granted. They expect that they will always have these freedoms and nothing will ever change that. Unfortunately for all, that isn’t the case. Our forefathers fought for these freedoms and privileges we have now and many are still fighting.

This fight for freedom has been going on since the first colonist stepped foot on this great land…it will continue. What bothers me is that our nation now seems lost in the direction in which it wants to go. Are we suddenly no longer satisfied with the laws put forth many years ago? To me the constitution has seemed like a pretty good thing, something worth fighting for. But, every time I turn around someone is trying to whittle away at these old laws. Laws that have served us well. I’m betting George Washington and Ben Franklin are pretty restless in their graves right now over the state of our nation.

I was taught growing up something that many today no longer understand…respect. That’s all most people want anyway. From outlaw biker clubs right up to the president they all deserve respect. That doesn’t mean you have to like them or agree with what they do, just respect them. All people deserve a certain amount of respect no matter who they are, they are human. Where am I going with all this you may wonder? Well, I’ll tell you. I think our greatest fight for freedom isn’t across our borders, it’s with ourselves. We can no longer agree on anything. We let so many things get in our way. Race, greed, lack of respect, laziness, they all quickly come to mind. In order to remain the greatest nation on this planet, we are going to have to start acting like it again. Right now we act like a backyard baseball team that can’t decide who the pitcher is, or who is gonna play first base. So what do we do, we just stand around yelling at each other. I don’t think we’re going to fix anything until we all get on the same page. And that’s my blog for today-Happy B-day America!
